I'm strangely not excited about much else. I'm probably going to draft this set to get my fetches though.

The Mindbreak Trap for sideboard tech in legacy.
That's it as of right now.

And I guess the full art basics. For my 250 (It's getting to that 300, Abe!) and a few 60 card decks I like the Unhinged basics, so any of these I get I'm going to trade away to the younger kids at the card shops.

I like expensive lands that sell boxes. At least they didn't make them mythic. That would've blown ass.

Ok, I'm going to do this the civilized way instead of a guided rant.

Say it with me.

Mindbreak Trap is not good in Legacy. Mindbreak Trap is not good in Legacy. Mindbreak Trap is not good in Legacy. Mindbreak Trap is not good in Legacy. Mindbreak Trap is not good in Legacy. Mindbreak Trap is not good in Legacy. Mindbreak Trap is not good in Legacy.

Here's why. The majority of combo decks that would be susceptible to it already run some combination of about 10 Duress/Silence/Orim's Chant. Mindbreak Trap is only good once they hit their 4th spell.

It is being hyped by people outside the format who know that they play storm combo, but don't know what else is in the deck. Sure, it'd be good against the storm combo from extended with Minds Desire (what they know) because it doesn't run any of the mentioned cards. Heck, if Solidarity or Spring Tide were actually contenders it wouldn't be bad, but until then they're just hype. Heck, I think even that idiot they have writing on Star City Games figured it out, and he's an idiot. Not you Abe, talking about Doug Linn.

I'll say it one more time in case you missed it. Mindbreak Trap is not good in Legacy.

I agree with the major ass blowing that the fetches would have been if there were mythics.

Point taken. Now, I just figure I'll sell whatever ones I get back to the card shop in Monroe and get store credit. I didn't even consider the disruption aspect of it. I read and said to myself, "Shit, might as well play that."

Sorry for going a bit over the top about the stupid trap. It's gonna have value when the set is new when everyone (like you were) thinks it's good and wants it. Kind of like Time Warp when Tempest was new or Ring of Gix when legacy was new (they were $20+ each) and now worth not much. I don't think they will go that high, but I'll guess 8-9 each early on until people see they aren't that good.

They made Goblin lackey Mythic which seems so against what Mythics are for.

Problem there is there are several that prove that they really didn't mean it when they said mythics shouldn't be staples.

Examples:

Baneslayer Angel
Elspeth
Rafiq the Many
Sarkhan Vol
Tezzeret
Time Warp (for some reason standard likes this thing)

I'm only counting Time Warp there because it wasn't printed as a non mythic this decade. The sad thing is that I remember when it was new... *goes and feels old alone in the corner*

rafiq, Elspeth, Tezzeret and Sarkhan should not be on your list because WoTC said that Mythics would be for Planeswalkers and legends.
